So, when Mr. Blackberry tells me about this frankofoni festival, I was excited to go. I got four days to waste, anyway.. And decided to waste it on some french-culture-exposure.
CCF was having this LA SEMAINE DE LA FRANCOPHONIE 2008 à JAKARTA, on 17 - 22 Maret 2008.
There were gonna be movie screening, Exhibition "collage of francophonie", food bazzar, Pintemps des poètes,.. and so on,..
shortly i agreed to ‘go-French’ this weekend.
The grand-plan was, we are going to go to CCF to watch this french movie, and then go to Grand indonesia for some pintemps des poètes and then find some croissant to fill us up..
Since this is my first, CCF theater visit.. i cannot helped to compared it to my regular mall-based commercial theather..
Though the CCF theather were smaller in scale (much-much smaller), it was nice, the seat was quite comfy, there was no line-up, and the food was affordable compared to that on 21 or XXI. the movie we watch was' pas de panique', a french-drama-comedy, it was quite entertaining,
and free. i still cant get over the fact that it is free. we only spent money on food while waiting for the movie to start. but i wonder,.. why there is only 6 people-(including us) enjoying this free-movie?
anyway going to Pintemps des poètes at grand indonesia, we are kinda disappointed, the poetry reading was to loooongg apart,.. waiting for it was unbelievably boring, though there were a poetry-give away, package in a bamboo box, but the poetry inside it doesnt live-up to my hollywood-established-image-of-french expectation at all. it was about a brother, a duck and a lady boss, i think. if there was hidden meaning behind those poems, well we simply just dont get it. So we decided to cheer ourself with a bucket of crunchy-caramel-popcorn (not very french, i know).
Though before we go, i decided to have a quick stop at the ladies room. and delighted to find that each of the restrooms have different poetry attached.. and my favorite goes like this:

ok, i admit it was 'cinta terlalu banana' that got me.. but its light and fun.. which how weekend should!
